In a shocking turnaround, Brunholl has resigned as Worshipful Master and will leave office on the 8th September 2022, with just 25 days from the next election.

Yesterday, in an announcement, Brunholl stated:

"I’m going to resign in 7 days. I want to get something done in office so I don’t go down as a nobody then Patec can take over as interim because it’s neither fair nor appropriate for me to lead when unable to."

This shocking turnaround comes just a few days before the WA Delegate election. With FRS not being active, Meercovo and Aezealia have both announced their intention to stand.

The resignation comes as a shock to regional politics, with many expecting Brunholl to complete a full term. Brunholl is the first WM to resign, and the first to not complete a full term.

However, with the surprise announcment also came the indication that a major policy or piece of legislation is about to be put forward. This is likely to be related to RP.

The announcement is an unprecedented moment in regional politics, and will be remembered as this government, the 3rd Government comes swiftly and suddenly to an end.

Deputy Master Patec will assume office and appoint the 4th Government of The Orange Order. However, with Patec not being democratically elected, some are questioning what mandate the new government will have. Brunholl is expected to clear the air of any uncertainty by supporting the new WM.

Patec is expected to take a different approach towards the day-to-day running of regional affairs. From Patec's election policies we expect to see a greater focus on RP.

Whatever happens this government wants to go out with a big policy that it can be remembered for.
