Oleg Edwards blamed for recession

Meercovo has long prided itself as the largest automobile manufacturer in TOO. Not any more. National humiliation has engulfed the country as Zanjact's industry soars into the number 1 spot.

Every major industry in Meercovo is stagnant, with little economic growth, and rising inflation pointing to the possibility of a recession. Meercovo has been worse effected by a cost of living crisis, with high income tax to blame.

All opposition parties are calling for the PM to cut tax, an unusual issue for a Conservative PM to deal with, and an issue unpopular in Mr Edwards' own ranks.

While polls continue to indicate that Mr Edwards would win an election, today saw the first fall in his poll ratings in over 7 months. Polls now suggest that Mr Edwards' own seat would be at risk, although many in the party call the poll in question an "outlier".

Meanwhile, unemployment is growing at the fastest rate ever, and no jobs are being created. The tax for the top 10% has dropped, as Meercovo is a dismal 8th in the region for economic output.

Over the next few months, all eyes will be on the polls to see how Mr Edwards' response is received.
