Meercovo appointed Supreme Judge

Former WM, Meercovo, was today appointed a supreme judge of the opposition by FRS

Today, FRS, Leader of the Opposition and WA Delegate, appointed Meercovo as a Supreme Judge of the Opposition. As part of this appointment, Meercovo will help FRS scrutinise government policy and decision-making.

The appointment comes just days after Meercovo's retirement from government, and marks a new chapter in the nation's history. Meercovo welcomed the appointment, and Oleg Edwards said he was looking forward to working with FRS on a variety of issues.

Meanwhile, FRS reiterated the support for the constitution, stating:

"The Orange Order is a democracy, run democratically, by all of the residents that reside within. Therefore, I see no reason why, if legislation is believed to be beneficial to the region, why should it not be put to a vote?"

This statement was seen as a direct response to Brunholl and Niater for attempting to pass the WMD Bill without any poll. The poll is now up, and initial results indicate that the bill will not pass.

Furthermore, with the entire opposition voting against the bill, it is effectively unconstitutional, although it is still possible for it to pass with regional consent.

In a region-wide announcement, FRS highlighted the issues with the poll, including criticisms of the wording.

However, new WM Brunholl quickly dismissed this statement, saying:

"WMDs mean weapons that kill lots at once, kill indiscriminately and will leave lasting residue, so think nuclear, chemical or biological weapons. Simply launching a missile at another nation is one thing, however you couldn’t do so if it’s going to make a major city uninhabitable. The consent bit is basically for RP so if you really want to spice things up you could allow it, but you don’t just lose half your country."

This recent dispute marks the beginning of a turbulent relationship between the government and opposition over the coming weeks.
