Meercovo-Zanjact trade deal sparks war of words

Meercovo and Zanjact have reached an historic deal regarding the automobile. But not everyone is happy about it.

Meercovo and Zanjact have recently announced a game-changing trade agreement, which will overhaul the automobile industry in the Orange Order.

Just a few days ago, Meercovo announced the 'landmark' trade deal, with a statement:

"As part of recent talks, Meercovo and Zanjact have reached an historic landmark decision regarding trade, specifically in the automobile industry. Both nations have agreed, after successful negotiations, that neither nation will import automobiles from any outside nation. We are also issuing a declaration: nations must now cease importing automobiles from any nation except Meercovo and Zanjact. If nations do not comply, tariffs will be placed on goods trading from your nation to ours. Effectively, you will be shut off from the two largest manufacturing industries, until you only import automobiles from us."

This announcment was met with chaos in the markets, as fears of trade embargoes and tariffs brought the Royal Mark tumbling down. However, contrary to the regional trend, Meercovo and Zanjact saw an economic boom overnight, quashing concerns of recession in Meercovo.

The two nations are aiming to secure a monopoly over the industry, by surgically removing all competition region-wide. The deal marks a transformation in relations between the two nations, after the Meercovo-Zanjact war just a few months ago.

Meanwhile, nations have responded in shock and horror:

"I'm glad that Meercovo and Zanjact reached a trade agreement but, do you need to force your agreement to all the nations of The Orange Order? The fact that these two nations believe that it is okay to force the nations of this region to only be able to import automobiles from them is outrageous! Although a declaration like this is to be expected from a nation like Zanjact, the fact that a democratic nation like Meercovo agreed to this shows us that no nation is free from corruption and tyranny. For this reason I ask that the government of The Orange Order and all nations that are part of this region, to not tolerate this unlawful behavior and to sanction Zanjact and Meercovo until they lift their abusive embargo,"

stated a representative from Oranjehaven.

Despite these threatening remarks, the economic impact in Zanjact has been unparallelled. The automobile industry jumped by almost 1.1 billion Royal Marks overnight, as the industry has reached never before seen heights.

However, concerns are rising over the potential for conflict, with nations still weary of Zanjact's unmatched military strength.
