Terror attack in Meercovo

◉ LIVE UPDATES A state of emergency has been declared in Meercovo as a large explosion was heard in the capital, Oslo.

At 5.15 GMT, a large explosion was heard across Oslo as Meercovians returned home from work. The explosion came from within the Meercovo Parliament and has been described as an attempt to destroy the government.

Current estimates suggest that between 50-100 people are missing and families of those not yet found are hoping and praying that they can be found swiftly.

At least 10 people have died in what Prime Minister Oleg Edwards called a "direct attack".

Edwards deployed armed police and soldiers to the streets within minutes of the attack and declared a city-wide lockdown for the next 24 hours. Edwards has also claimed that this could be the work of FRS First.

Military and Health Service workers have been removing rubble as the east wing of the Parliament building lays in ruins. Edwards says that the parliament is relocating to a secure location, and he stated that when the Meercovian Secret Service discovers who is responsible, immediate military action will be taken.

Several possible organisations and suspects have emerged as possible perpetrators of this attack. They include:

  • FRS First

  • Icelandic Independence Army (IIA)

  • Several small republican groups operating in North Meercovo.

However, another possibility has emerged. Through social media, the conspiracy theory that Liers Norgan blew up parliament as part of an elaborate revenge plan have spread like wildfire.

Meanwhile, the entire nation is watching and waiting to see what happens next. If no organisation accepts responsibility then Meercovo will rely upon its intelligence forces to find the culprits.

Estimated damage is expected to be around RM 4 billion due to priceless paintings and artefacts being on display inside parliament. Meanwhile, the actual cost will likely exceed that figure to around RM 25 billion, factoring in the rescue operation and economic damage.

Some suggest that the attack could have been orchestrated by another TOO nation, however, Oleg Edwards was quick to dismiss this accusation.

The declaration of a state of emergency means that Oleg Edwards no longer has to consult parliament about matters such as funding and military, meaning Edwards can take Meercovo to war on his own accord.

However, the true damage and cost to the families impacted is immeasurable and Edwards said that he would be visiting survivors in hospital tonight.
