Patec re-elected

ONN can now confirm reports that De Roock has conceded this election, as TNO sets itself up as the most successful party in regional history.

De Roock conceded in a short election speech, stating:

"We will be happy to work with our partners in the TNO, but, we will be back, we made a promise to keep Orange moving, and we'll keep it that way."

The PSD, which was taking its first major electoral test, initially produced excellent results, taking a healthy lead of 4-2 over Patec early on Friday morning.

ONN was preparing to call the election for De Roock as it appeared that the PSD had the momentum and the ODU backing to make it to their first WM position.

Yet within a matter of hours, the healthy margin of victory dissolved and numerous nations suddenly and unexpectedly switched sides, denying De Roock and the PSD a victory.

And behind it all, the ONN projection of 4 for Patec, was wrong. How did this happen?

The ONN projection, while correct in producing a Patec victory, was wrong by projecting Patec to receive 4 votes while in fact, Patec took 7 votes.

ONN claims that its election calculator failed to "detect how nations would change their minds" and that it was clear that "the region was split" due to the constant "back and forth of votes"

This election was a rollercoaster ride for the region. It took 3 days for any winner to be called, the longest ever. Nations were flip-flopping between two similar choices with similar ideas for the region.

Some pollsters had predicted that De Roock would take a surprise victory. Debate performances supported this, but they were wrong. They were right in predicting that the PSD had more support in the region than anticipated- as was seen when the PSD took what ONN thought was the winning margin.

But the question that remains for the region is beyond the next 60 days. With this being, legally, the last Patec term, has Niater been perfectly set up for future electoral victory? Who will be TNO's candidate? Will ODU run?

Yes, Niater has been set up perfectly. Just a few months ago, Patec lost an election. 30 days later, Patec was WM. It's likely, that as Deputy Master Niater will be seen as the perfect successor to Patec.

TNO might struggle to find a candidate. Despite having the largest party membership, and the largest wealth of experience, TNO has less politically active members. Meanwhile, the ODU might be keen to jump in and run directly against Niater.

Furthermore, Niater now will take the in-government experience as Deputy WM.

Whatever happens, we now know that Patec will finish on their 150th day in power, as the longest serving WM by 80 days.
